Wendy PadburyOur friends at Tenth Planet Events, who have done so much over the years to support our convention will be bringingWendy Padbury to Whooverville.

After an early stint on the soap Crossroads, Wendy joined Doctor Who in 1968 as the Second Doctor’s new companion, Zoe Heriot, leaving simultaneously with her co-stars Patrick Troughton and Frazer Hines at the conclusion of The War Games in the summer of 1969.
She returned to the world of Doctor Who in 1974, playing Jenny in the stage-play Doctor Who and the Daleks in the Seven Keys to Doomsday, opposite Trevor Martin as the Doctor. She then made an appearance, together with Frazer and Patrick, in Doctor Who’s 20th anniversary story, The Five Doctors.

Other roles have included co-presenter of the second series of Score With The Scaffold and the part of Sue Craig in three series of the children’s television adventure programme Freewheelers. She made a series of appearances in the soap opera Emmerdale Farm, again opposite Frazer Hines.

Her film appearances included a brief role in Charlie Bubbles (1967) with Albert Finney, and the cult British horror film The Blood on Satan’s Claw (1970), alongside future Master actor Anthony Ainley.

Following retirement from acting, Wendy worked for a long time as a theatrical agent, with Nicholas Courtney, Colin Baker and Mark Strickson, among her clients. She discovered Matt Smith at the National Youth Theatre.

In recent years, Wendy has returned to the role of Zoe Herriot in audio adventures featuring the Second (and Sixth) Doctor, for Big Finish Productions.

We are delighted to be welcoming Wendy to Derby QUAD on Saturday September 2nd and give huge thanks to Derek Hambly for arranging this very special sponsored guest.

Please remember, that as a sponsored guest, Tenth Planet Events will charge for Wendy’s autograph and for photographs.
