Whooverville is the East Midlands’ biggest annual get-together to fans of the BBC TV series ‘Doctor Who’. Organised by Derby’s local Doctor Who group, the Whoovers, one of the most popular fan groups in the UK, Whooverville is a day of fun for all ages. Whooverville event is a chance to have your photo taken with the TARDIS, catch up on gossip from the latest series, purchase new and classic merchandise, take part in a Doctor Who pod-cast, add to the autograph album and meet some of the people from in front of and behind the camera. Stop Press – WHOOVERVILLE 12 – THE RETURN
Now, where were we before we were so rudely interrupted…
We are delighted to announce that Whooverville 12, our entirely fan-run, unofficial, one-day convention for fans of the legendary BBC television series Doctor Who returns to Derby QUAD, on Saturday September 4th, with a full roster of guests from both the classic and modern eras of the popular science-fiction show.
Whooverville 12 was originally scheduled for October 2020, but in common with so many events, it had to be postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. Tickets sold for last year are still absolutely valid, although exceptionally, holders of those tickets will be able to apply to QUAD Box Office for a refund, if they prefer.
With restrictions being lifted, we have every hope and expectation that we will be able to hold Whooverville 12 as normal; however, just to err on the side of caution, we are only releasing 150 more tickets for sale immediately. The remaining 60 tickets will be released for sale in June, only if, as expected, the UK government is able to announce the end of social-distancing requirements. If that does not happen, Whooverville will go ahead with fewer attendees than usual.
Ticket prices for Whooverville 12 are, of course, the same as they were last year – £50 full price, £33 concessions or £10 Under 12s. As usual at Whooverville, ticket price includes entry to all interviews and panels plus one free autograph per official guest, with additional (reasonable) charges for extra autographs, autographs from sponsored guests and photo-shoots.
